Meet Andrew, the founder of Grill and Ember BBQ cookery school as well as a primary school teacher. From his early days in the Scouts, Andrew developed a deep appreciation for cooking on fires. Whether it was grilling burgers or roasting marshmallows, he was always captivated by the unique flavors that fire cooking could impart to dishes. Little did he know that this passion would eventually lead him to establish Grill and Ember, a haven for barbecue enthusiasts seeking to master the art of cooking over open flames.

Andrew's journey truly took off when he acquired his first Big Green Egg, a versatile ceramic grill that changed the way he approached outdoor cooking. With its precise temperature control and exceptional heat retention, the Big Green Egg allowed him to experiment with a multitude of cooking techniques and recipes, elevating his culinary skills to new heights.

Inspired by the incredible results he achieved using the Big Green Egg, Andrew became consumed with the desire to share his knowledge and expertise with others. Realising the lack of dedicated BBQ cookery schools in his area, he took it upon himself to create a space where aspiring grillmasters could learn, grow, and connect with like-minded individuals.
