  • CLASS TIMES

Arrival time for the class is 10.30am with the class starting at 10:45am. Bacon sandwiches or pancakes and tea and coffee will be served on arrival. We aim to finish around 5pm, though we may run over depending on how much we talk and cook!

  • CORPORATE DAYS

Yes, we do specially crafted corporate days and stag & hen parties, for groups of 6+. With our OFYR trailer and portable Big Green Egg Minixmax and DeliVita pizza oven, we can come to you. Please get in touch for more info.

  • COSTS

Classes cost Β£195 (apart from the Golf Day) per person and include a full day of cooking. The course fee includes a full lunch with drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) throughout the day. Each course will have a maximum of 8 people.

Our costs are to cover the quality meat, fish and fresh produce we use as well as fuel for the BBQs and the time it takes to prepare each class. We think you are getting fantastic value for money! Our biggest profit from the day is getting to spend a day cooking alongside you.

  • FOOD SOURCING

At Grill & Ember, our commitment to quality and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. That's why we take great pride in sourcing all our food locally. Our meat comes exclusively from None Go Bye Farm, conveniently located just down the road, where they supply us with their own meticulously raised and cared-for meat produce. It's not just our meat; everything else on our menu is either grown right here at home or in our neighbours' garden, ensuring the freshest and most flavourful ingredients possible. We also support our local community by purchasing additional ingredients from nearby shops. By doing so, we not only offer our customers a true taste of the region but also contribute to the vitality of our community and reduce our carbon footprint. When you cook at Grill & Ember, you're not only savoring delicious food but also supporting local farmers and businesses.

  • FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS

The class will start with bacon sandwiches or pancakes cooked either on the Asado Chapa or the OFYR.

Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available throughout the day. You can just help yourself to these.

We will be eating what we cook and there will be salads to go with the lunchtime cook. Be prepared to graze your way through the day. Bring a tupperware and a cool box to take home any leftovers.

We have our Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and are awaiting our first inspection for our Food Hygiene Rating.

  • GIFT VOUCHERS

We sell gift vouchers to supplement or cover the cost of a class for a friend of relative.

Horsforth is well-connected by road and public transport networks, making it convenient for visitors traveling from different parts of the UK. The area is easily reachable from the nearby Leeds city center and other major cities and is situated just a 5 minute drive from Leeds Bradford International Airport.

Culinary Scene: Horsforth itself has a vibrant culinary scene, with numerous restaurants, cafes, and food establishments. Our favourite food in Horsforth is at either Il Forno or the Brownlee Arms. Granville’s is a great spot for a cocktail or fresh pint!

  • PARKING

Our property has a car parking room for up to four cars on the driveway which means you can park your cars securely and conveniently. We also have an electric charging point, should your car need filling up during the day.

There may be instances where more than four cars need to be parked, or there are already four cars parked on the driveway, in which case please park your cars on the roadside. Please park considerately to avoid causing any inconvenience to our friendly neighbours.

  • WHAT'S ON THE MENU?

Well, it’s up to you! We will ask you in advance if there’s anything in particular you’d like to give a go.

    A typical day would include:

    • Scallops

    • Fillet of Fish

    • Jerk Chicken

    • Chargrilled Aubergine and Buffalo Mozarella salad

    • Brisket

    • Steaks - we love having a steak competition amongst our guests, each cooking on a different barbecue.

    • Pork Belly Burnt Ends

    • Chicken Shwarma

    • Pizza!

  • WHAT TO WEAR

The majority of the class will take place outside. Therefore please bring appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. It’s much better to have extra layers with you and not need them than to feel cold for the whole day. Not all of the BBQ area is covered so please make sure you have a waterproof should the weather be inclement.

Please make sure you wear sensible shoes for cooking, no high heels and no open toed sandals. You will be standing for a lot of the day so make sure you wear something comfortable.

We will provide everyone with aprons to keep yourself clean.

If it’s going to be sunny please bring suncream, the BBQ area is a bit of a sun trap. Don’t forget sunglasses and feel free to bring a camera.
